Maryland special parks district champions Volvo electric equipment

Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission is one of the first U.S. agencies to electrify its construction fleet, starting with a combo of Volvo compact models, the ECR25 electric excavator and L25 electric wheel loader. Both models were efficiently purchased through the Sourcewell buying contract.

A major focus for the parks department this year is to improve ballparks, playgrounds and trails — and their new L25 Electric compact wheel loader and ECR25 Electric compact excavator are already on the job. Government fleets are among the most eager early adopters of electric construction equipment as they seek solutions to support sustainability initiatives and meet demands from the public and elected officials.
