The inception of the Annual Oyster Roast dates back 39 years, originating when the owner of White Oak Equipment discovered that one of his employees had been diagnosed with cancer. Subsequently, the Customer Appreciation Event emerged. In 2020, McClung-Logan assumed the sponsorship reins following its acquisition of White Oak Equipment in 2019.

This heartfelt gathering aims to assist individuals facing challenges, with this year’s focus on supporting Aria Noelle Deskins, diagnosed with leukemia at just 17 months old. Aria’s journey has been marked by numerous obstacles: a lumbar puncture for the installation of a chemotherapy port, a bone marrow biopsy, an E. Coli infection with fever, in addition to multiple surgeries and hospital stays. At one point, the impact of medications resulted in a remarkable weight gain—from 23 to 37 lbs. within a few weeks.

Despite these challenges, Aria recently completed intensified chemotherapy, bravely enduring leg shots administered by her devoted parents. Adding to their responsibilities, Aria’s parents welcomed a new baby boy into their lives this past August. We invite you to join us in supporting Aria and her family.
